This post offers visual resources for the Revised Common Lectionary and the Narrative Lectionary for the fifth week of Lent, March 17, 2024. Jeremiah declares that God will write the covenant on the hearts of the people and know them personally. David cries out for a clean heart. This post offers visual resources for the Revised Common Lectionary and the Narrative Lectionary for the fourth week of Lent, March 10, 2024. The RCL is all about the bronze serpent in the wilderness. Jesus tells Nicodemus that the Son of Man will be lifted up just like Moses lifted up the serpent in Numbers. The NL continues Mark’s version of Jesus in the Temple in the days before his execution. He is asked, “What is the greatest commandment?”

This post offers visual resources for the Revised Common Lectionary and the Narrative Lectionary for the third week of Lent, March 3, 2024. In the RCL, God spoke words of Promise at Mt. Sinai. Psalm 19 says the heavens declare the glory of God and Torah. Jesus cleansed the Temple in John 2 and promised to rebuild it in three days. Paul says that the word of the cross is foolishness to the wisdom of the world. The NL takes us to Jesus’ parable of the rented vineyard.
