I’ve been on vacation for the past week. Vacation is a strange concept during a pandemic stay-at-home order. I didn’t go anywhere. I simply shifted gears and went to my happy place.

One of my happy places is animation. So, each morning I went down to my digital studio and worked on this little animation. I actually started the project a few weeks ago, but have not had time to work on it. My goal was to finish it this week. Mission accomplished.

Here’s the crazy thing about animation. This little, 11-second piece took at least 20 hours to produce.

The version you see on this post is an animated GIF. It is designed to run once and freeze on the final image. It now lives on A Cartoonist’s Guide to the Bible home page. If you want to watch it again, you must refresh this page and it will reload and run.

I sent this silent version to my son to see what audiological spice he can add to the mix to make it fully alive.

I’ve also been working on an oil painting, but I’ll share that journey when it is finished. That takes even longer than this project.

Enjoy!
