Jesus shakes things up in Mark 2:1-22. He claims authority to forgive sins, he parties with tax collectors, and his disciples don’t fast. His response is this, “You put new wine into new wineskins.” How do you deal with the disruptive nature of Jesus?
This is a visual meditation on Mark 1:15. Jesus begins his ministry by proclaiming, “The time is fulfilled and the Kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”
What do you think of when you hear the term “Good Samaritan.” You probably imagine a kind-hearted person, who looks a lot like you, that takes compassion on the weak and suffering. Those are nice images, and we need lots more people who do this good work. However, it is not the type of image that Jesus intented when he told the story of a “Good Samaritan” in Luke 10:25-37
