The phrase “repent and believe” probably conjures up all kinds of images an emotions in your mind. My guess is that some of them are not pleasant. Perhaps you see an angry man standing on a street corner yelling at sinners as they pass. Perhaps you feel condemnation and exclusion.
When we take a deeper look at these words, in the original language and the context of Jesus’ ministry, I think they have a much deeper, more inclusive and actually good message.
