This post offers visual resources for the Revised Common Lectionary and the Narrative Lectionary for April 2, 2023. It is Palm Sunday, so both lectionaries call for Matthew’s version of the Triumphal Entry. The Narrative Lectionary is only focused on Matthew 21:1-17. The Revised Common Lectionary is focused on Matthew 21:1-11 for the Triumphal Entry, but then calls for either the entire passion week in Matthew 26:14-27:66 or only Matthew 27:11-54.

This post offers visual resources for the Revised Common Lectionary and the Narrative Lectionary for March 26, 2023. Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead in John 11 and Jesus tells the parable of the sheep and the goats in Matthew 25. Both events point to the end of the age and the coming passion of the Christ.

In this third week of Lent we explore visual resources for both the Revised Common Lectionary and the Narrative Lectionary for March 12, 2023. The RCL takes us to Exodus 17 with Moses bringing water from the rock, Romans 5 where the Spirit pours out grace, and John 4 where Jesus offers living water to the woman at the Well. The Narrative Lectionary takes us to a confrontation about Jesus’ authority and his parable of the wedding banquet.

In this second week of Lent we explore the generosity and abundance of God. The Revised Common Lectionary takes us to John 3:1-17 where Jesus talks about God’s love for the world with Nicodemus. The Narrative Lectionary takes us to the parable that Jesus tells following the encounter with the rich young ruler where a vineyard owner pays all the workers the same wage, no matter how long they had worked in the field.
