The livestream sessions are now complete. Enjoy this playlist and gallery of images from the experience.
This post offers visual resources for the Revised Common Lectionary and the Narrative Lectionary for December 24, 2023. This is the fourth week of Advent AND Christmas Eve. We light the candle of LOVE and Celebrate the Nativity.
The image I drew during the livestream was inspired by Psalm 126. Those who sow in tears will reap with joy. The disciple’s journey is to acknowledge the tears and the joy and know that God is with us through all of it. I added the crib and the cross to remind us that Jesus experienced it all with us and for us.
This post offers visual resources for the Revised Common Lectionary and the Narrative Lectionary for December 17, 2023. This is the third week of Advent. We light the candle of JOY. The RCL takes us to Isaiah, Psalms, 1 Thessalonians, and John to offer texts that explore the mixture of tears and joy. The NL takes us to Ezra were we see the restoration of the temple after the Exile and another mixture of joy and tears.
Light a Virtual Advent Wreath with Candles
I created a piece of art during this livestream event on December 5, 2023. Enjoy the video and the finished piece.
This post offers visual resources for the Revised Common Lectionary and the Narrative Lectionary for December 10, 2023. This is the second week of Advent. We light the candle of PEACE. This is also a rare convergence where both lectionaries have the same OT reading and Gospel text. This week we connect Isaiah 40 to the ministry of John the Baptist in the Gospel of Mark.
Would you help me discern what visual resources I should create for the good of the church in 2024?
This year I completed a five-year journey of illustrating all four gospels and the book of Acts as graphic novels. Now I wonder what God might be asking me to illustrate and/or animate in 2024. I’d love to hear your suggestions/needs to spark my imagination.
Would you be willing to take this short survey. It should take 2 minutes, tops.
