Ephesians 2:13-14 says, “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace; in his flesh he has made both groups into one and has broken down the dividing wall, that is, the hostility between us.”
This post offers visual resources for this text and all the texts from the Revised Common Lectionary on July 21, 2024.
In this livestream session I do three things. 1. I walk through a gallery of the plen air paintings I made while at Camp House. 2. I show you a pochade box and how to use it. 3. I spend about 20 minutes drawing a portrait with pencil. Enjoy!
The Revised Common Lectionary launches a two-month series on the letter to the Ephesians this Sunday. I took this opportunity to pull my illustration of Ephesians out of moth balls and give it a little update. Enjoy!
The readings for the Revised Common Lectionary for July 14 take us to a wide variety of texts. In 2 Samuel we see David returning the ark of the covenant in a parade of worship. We begin a series on the letter to the Ephesians (stay tuned for my video on that later this week). The Gospel reading tells the story of how Herod executed John the Baptist in order to save face during a drunken party.
