In this second week of Lent we explore the generosity and abundance of God. The Revised Common Lectionary takes us to John 3:1-17 where Jesus talks about God’s love for the world with Nicodemus. The Narrative Lectionary takes us to the parable that Jesus tells following the encounter with the rich young ruler where a vineyard owner pays all the workers the same wage, no matter how long they had worked in the field.
Happy New Year! This week both lectionaries go back to fill in some gaps from Jesus’ origin story in Matthew. The Revised Common Lectionary (RCL) takes us to Matthew 2:13-23 and the Narrative Lectionary (NL) takes us all the way back to the genealogy in Matthew 1:1-17. These are visual resources to help you study, preach, and teach these texts.
