This post offers visual resources for the Revised Common Lectionary and the Narrative Lectionary for the second week of Lent, February 25, 2024. The RCL focuses on the promise God made to Abraham and how Jesus invites his disciples to take up their cross to follow him. The NL continues in Mark with the healing of Bartimaeus. In all of these stories we explore the theme of faith, or, better translated, TRUST.
These visuals compare and contrast the way Matthew, Mark, and Luke use Jesus’ journey from the Transfiguration to the Triumphal Entry to emphasize a particular aspect of his teaching.
This post offers a sermon and a description of how one might create a multisnesory experience for the Ash Wednesday service.
Two paintings of burned forests and new growth. I invite you to use these images as objects of contemplation for this week of Ash Wednesday and the beginning of the Lenten Season.
