The Word became flesh and blood,
and moved into the neighborhood.
If you’re wondering why the word flesh is inside a tent and surrounded by tents, here’s why. The Greek is literally translated, “he pitched his tent among us.” It is an allusion to the tabernacle in Exodus. The tribes of Israel pitched their tents around the tent of God. The glory of God filled the tabernacle and lived among the people. Jesus is the new tabernacle. Emmanuel, God with us.
