The texts this week talk about a prophet who would prepare the way for the coming Messiah. That is the spirit of Advent. We are invited to prepare the way in our lives and our relationships for a rebirth of light. My prayer for you this week is that you will be able to find some time to slow down, breathe deeply, declutter, and be able to focus on the things that really matter in this world: love, justice, peace, and seeking the mutual flourishing of all things.

Light the second candle this week and pray for peace; in your own heart, in your family, in our world.
