Jesus’ disciples never quite get it in the Gospel of Mark. Jesus has told them three times that he is going to die when he gets to Jerusalem and that they must take up their cross to follow him. What do James and John do? They ask him if they can sit on Jesus’ right and left hand when he establishes his kingdom!!
How often do we listen with our own agenda in mind and miss the point of God’s dream for the world?
