Beginning a Series in John 6

The Revised Common Lectionary begins a 5-week series on John 6 this week. It starts with the stories of Jesus feeding 5,000 people with 5 loaves of barley bread and two fish that Andrew found in a young boy’s lunch. After this event the people wanted to forcibly make Jesus their king, so he fled from them and walked on stormy water to catch up with his disciples in the boat.

I made a dramatic reading video of John 6:1-59 that you are free to use in worship.

For those Preaching Ephesians

This is week 3 of the Ephesians mini-series. The text is Ephesians 3:14-21. The author declares,

“I pray that, according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love. I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 2:16-18 NRSV)

Know that you are loved today.
