One of my B.H.A.G.s (Big Hairy Audacious Goals) for this summer is to illustrate the Book of Acts as a graphic novel. My goal is to have it completely finished by the end of September. There will be 43 full-color pages. This will become the basis for my next course for Faith+Lead Academy, so stay tuned for that next year.

Since I’m constantly experimenting and playing with digital media tools, I thought it would be fun and interesting to do a livestream art session on my YouTube Channel each week. This creates a space where you (and all your friends) can hang out with me for one hour to experience the real-time process of creating this book.

Each Thursday, at 2:00pm CST, join me live as I continue working on the project wherever I happen to be at that time. You can ask questions in the chat in real time.

During last Thursday’s session, I did the rough pencil layout for page 19, which covers Acts 12:1-25.  Here’s the recording of the session (pro tip: play at 2x speed and fast forward to the parts you find most interesting).

Below are the pages that I penciled since the previous week’s session. Keep an eye on your inbox for weekly updates. Subscribe if you don’t want to miss any. Enjoy!

Join me on Thursdays at 2:00pm CST for a livestream art session on YouTube. I’m drawing through the book of Acts in real time.
