Lent begins this week with Ash Wedneday and the first Sunday of Lent. The RCL takes us to Matthew 6 for Ash Wednesday and Matthew 4 for Sunday. The Narrative Lectionary continues walking through the story of Matthew and lands in the Community Discourse of Matthew 18. This post has visual resources for all these passages.

Narrative Lectionary
This week the NL takes us to Matthew 18:1-9 for Ash Wednesday and then continues in Matthew 18:15-25 on Sunday. This is known as the Community Discourse. Jesus paints a picture of an alternative way of being the community of God. It is built on forgiveness and inclusion.
