One of the unique features of A Cartoonist’s Guide to the Bible is that the scripture is drawn in both a graphic novel page layout and a PowerPoint presentation. The printed page is useful as a handout and fun to look at and the PowerPoint/Image pack works well as a linear public presentation that supplements preaching and teaching.

Have you ever wondered how I create these things? I made this tutorial video (scroll to bottom to view) to pull back the curtain and show you exactly how it is done. If you have any knowledge of Photoshop and PowerPoint, then you can turn any complex image into a PowerPoint for yourself.

In this video I will convert this page from A Cartoonist’s Guide to John

…into this PowerPoint presentation…

Here’s the tutorial video. Enjoy!

In The Visual Preacher: Proclaiming an Embodied Word, Thomason’s winsomely illustrated text shows preachers visual techniques to study the Bible, construct a sermon, use the physical space where they preach, create two-dimensional images, and develop and use videos.
