This is page 9 from A Cartoonist’s Guide to Luke hot off the presses. I’m working to finish the pages we skipped when we preached through Luke earlier this year. The goal is to complete the whole book by end of summer.

This page shows Luke 8:1-21. Luke lifts up the women who traveled with and financially supported Jesus in his ministry. The exaltation of women, and all people who society treated as “less than,” is an important theme for Luke.

The middle section tells the parable of the four soils and how Jesus gives a rare explanation of the parable to his disciples.

Finally, Jesus makes a bold proclamation that his true family is comprised of those who hear the word of God and do it.
