We conclude our summer preaching series at Easter this week by exploring the story of Paul and Silas in Philippi found in Acts 16:11-40.
Our summer series is titled “Blowing in the Wind.” We have been loosely following Matthew Skinner’s commentary on Acts in which he explores how we can catch up with the Holy Spirit that always leads us into unexpected places.
This week Paul makes his first venture into a purely Roman System. Up to this point in the story Paul has been moving in cities where Rome is the occupying force, externally controlling diverse cultural systems. Philippi, on the other hand, is a Roman Colony planted in the region of Macedonia.
I hope to explore how the Gospel intersects with an Imperial System by looking at each key character in this power-packed story. Pray for this sermon prep.

Loved you story Telling, Steve
Thanks, Hank. Good to hear from you.
Hi Steve,
I would like to download a few of your frames from Paul in Philippi for a kids’ church slot on powerpoint. As I live in the UK I don’t know how to send you any relevant copywrite charge. If it’s ok I can have the session cancelled from our church site straight after the service.
Your stuff is brilliant well done you in this your part in the Lord’s purposes.
