Yesterday Dr. Kiefert gave us a mini-lecture on how theological education moved from the work of the catechist in the local congregation to the work of the professional teacher in the academy, and how it is seriously damaged the church. The premise/conclusion of his argument for this class is that “a reasonably adequate Christian theology does theology in, with, under, against, and for the local church.”

Here are my visual notes from the lecture.
