Stations of the Cross

On Good Friday we had a Stations of the Cross Experience. The following images were produced live in about 3 minutes each. I drew the charcoal and then Ethan and Charlotte smeared red acrylic paint on it. The images were ripped off the easel and taped to the wall while people prayed in silence.

Station 1: Jesus is condemned to Die

Station 2: Jesus Carries His Cross

Station 3: Jesus Falls

Station 4: Jesus Meets His Mother

Station 5: Simon Carries Jesus' Cross

Station 6: Jesus Meets the Women of Jerusalem

Station 7: Jesus is Stripped of His Garments

Station 8: Jesus is Nailed to the Cross

Station 9: Jesus Dies on the Cross

Station 10: Jesus is Buried in a Tomb

You truly made the Good Friday service come to life…the tone…the movements…the intensity…it was as if The Lord himself was present…the impact it made was powerful and real and emotional and opened my eyes and heart to what this journey is about…

    Hi Steven,
I love your stations drawings. I was wondering if you sell them for parish use, and if so, did you ever make all 14 stations? We would be very interested in using them for our Good Friday Way of the Cross service, but usually do 14 stations.

Thanks for your request. Those drawings were done live, during the Good Friday Service, so there is nothing to sell. However, you may want to see what this church did with my iPad sketches. Read this post. Let me know if that makes sense.

Feel free to use the images however you want. I’m happy to share.
