This Sunday at our High School Youth Group we will start a series on Facing our Fears. The first fear we’ll talk about is the fear of rejection. That’s a nasty one that can paralyze us and steal the joy of real friendship and great opportunities.
I searched the internet to find a “No Fear” logo that I could manipulate and change into a “Know Fear” logo. Instead, I found that someone had already done it. I like this play on words, because the idea of “no fear” is a dangerous one. There is some fear that actually helps us by protecting us from truly harmful things. The fear that destroys us is tied to our own negative image of self, God, and the world around us.
I hope this is a helpful series that High School students can relate to and find hope in a sometimes scary and/or confusing world.
