Jeremiah declares that God will write the covenant on the hearts of the people and know them personally. David cries out for a clean heart. Hebrews says that Jesus is a priest in the order of Melchizedek. Jesus shows his heart and the heart of God to the people. The NL takes us to Jesus’ prediction of the destruction of the Temple and his warning to “keep awake.”
