In this post I reflect on how the Gospel of Luke tells the story of Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey. The crowds shout “peace in the heavens, and glory in the highest!” What does this mean?

This post offers visual resources for the Revised Common Lectionary and the Narrative Lectionary for August 13, 2023. The RCL takes us to three powerful stories this week. First, we look at Joseph in Genesis for two weeks. Second, we read the story of Elijah and God on Mt. Horeb. Finally, we witness Jesus walking on water in Matthew 14:22-33. The NL concludes a series on Wisdom literature by looking at The Song of Solomon. It pairs this with Mark 8:35-37 for the Gospel reading.
