I am taking six weeks off from working at the church in order to focus on writing my dissertation. Two of those weeks will be vacation and four of them will be full-time, hard-core writing. I met with my advisor yesterday and she gave me some good direction and encouragement. It is just what I needed to motivate me to write the first draft of my dissertation.

The research group is still in process, so my writing will be provisional, at best. Yet, getting a first draft out of my head will make the final revision so much easier once I’ve processed all the data. The data will be completed in mid-November, so I’ll process it in December and write the final version of the dissertation at the end of the year.

I’m excited for this next leg of the journey in which I get to actually focus on one thing…mostly. 🙂
