Conflict. Unfortunately, this is a far too ordinary place for most of us. We see conflict all around us, at every level of life. Israel is threatening war with Iraq, Republicans and Democrats are slinging mud at each other, and the children in the backseat of our cars are drawing imaginary lines between one another.
“Don’t cross that line!” we say. We like to carve up life into “those people” over there and “my people” right here. These lines build over time into unscalable walls of hostility that fracture families, communities, and nations.
This week we are going to look at Ephesians 2:11-22. Jesus meets us in this all-too-ordinary space of conflict and shows us how to break down the walls that divide us. Join us in worship this weekend as we explore this alternative space, called peace, where Jesus wants to build us into something beautiful.
