The theme of this year’s convocation was “Religious, but Not Spiritual?” It was a good self-reflection for a room full of Lutheran pastors. The three plenary speakers–Lois Malcolm, Nancy Ammerman, and Nadia Bolz-Weber–each gave their own perspective on the theme. Malcom approached it from a theological perspective, Ammerman from the sociologist’s perspective, and Bolz-Weber brought it into the life of the local pastor and the stories of her own congregation in Denver. Each was wonderful in her own way.
Here are my notes from each presentation.
