These are my class notes from a lecture that Dr. Gary Simpson gave in our PhD seminar called “Gospel and Cultures.” It was his response to Willie Jennings’ book The Christian Imagination and an explanation of how Aristotle’s philosopy was the dominant imagination at the time the Christian scriptures were written.
