Advent is almost here. It is my favorite season of the year. I would love for you to join me on a contemplative journey through this season. Every Tuesday evening at 8:00pm Central Time I am going live for a series of contemplative art sessions. Each week I am going to visually explore the scripture and theme for the upcoming Sunday of Advent. We will meditate on Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love. And then, on the Tuesday before Christmas I’ll do a final meditation on the Nativity.
You are invited to create your own work of art along with me, or simply allow my creative process to open a contemplative space for you.
In a world that is moving so fast and full of so much pain and division, I hope this will open up a space for us to simply rest together.

Painting Good Friday | A Contemplative Art Experience
This session focuses our attention on the story of Jesus’ crucifixion. We remember this horrible event each year on Good Friday. In this session I begin the story with the Tree of Life planted in the Garden of Delight (Eden). I start there because the Gospels tell us that the curtain that separated the world from the Holy of Holies in the Temple was torn open from top to bottom when Jesus died on the cross. The early Christians believed that Jesus’ death re-opened the free access to the Holy Place, the Garden of Delight, the Tree of Life.
