2025 was a wild year full of lots of ups and downs, both personally and geopolitically. One of the anchors that keeps me sane through it all is drawing and painting. Please enjoy this review of my artwork from 2025. I hope it brightens your day.

Faces in Procreate
One of my favorite evening activities is to grab my iPad, sit on the couch, play some chill music, and sketch a face in Procreate. It is so relaxing.
Enjoy this gallery of my faces in Procreate from this year.
Faces in Oil
I experimented with painting in oil in my sketchbook this year. This snapshot is a nice glimpse into my studio. I’m using the Zorn palette and painting in an 8″ x 8″ Hahnemühle watercolor book.
I learned a lot. Still not quite sure what I’m doing, but it is fun.
Art Pastor Live!
I really like to livestream. The streams are multicast to Facebook and YouTube.
I think I enjoy it so much because it connects me to my days as a caricature artist when I would draw in public all day, every day. There is a certain energy that happens when you are creating and you know people are watching. It is raw and real.
Here is a compilation of all the images I created during livestreams this year. Watch them at artpastor.com/live.
Plen Air Painting
I love going outside to paint. The fancy word for this is plen air. This year I invested in a new tripod that holds my pochade box nice and sturdy. I only got out five times this summer, but it was super fun! Enjoy the gallery.
Oil Painting
Menards had a special on 10″ circular canvases, so I couldn’t pass it up. I painted these oils based on photographs that my wife, Lona, took in our back yard.
I didn’t have a lot of time to work in oils this year, but I’m really glad I took the time to create these little gems.
I did this 24″ x 36″ oil painting on canvas as a commissioned piece for a family. They wanted the painting to commemorate their 19-year-old son who was killed in a motorcycle accident.
