June/July 2022

Hi Subscriber,

Happy Summer to you! For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, and the Upper Midwest, where I live, we have reached the longest, hottest, greenest days of the year. For those of you who are in your cold or rainy season, stay warm and dry.

I want to share TWO REALLY BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS with you.
  1. I am leaving my current call as a local church pastor and will start my new call as the Associate Professor of Spiritual Formation at Luther Seminary on August 1st. Read the details in the post below.
  2. My new book The Visual Preacher is coming to bookstores on July 19! Check out the link below to learn more about the book and how to preorder.
As always, I've also included some fuel for your journey from the blog.

Taking this journey together,
Steve

Visual Preacher

In The Visual Preacher: Proclaiming an Embodied Word, Thomason's winsomely illustrated text shows preachers visual techniques to study the Bible, construct a sermon, use the physical space where they preach, create two-dimensional images, and develop and use videos.
