He is Risen! Christ is risen, indeed! Alleluia! We continue to sing that refrain during these weeks of the Easter season. Here in the Upper Midwest of the United States we can feel this reality as spring flowers, green leaves, and warmer days finally push back the darkness and cold of winter.

This month I would like to invite you to explore A Cartoonist's Guide to the Bible. This website houses one of my deepest passions. God continually calls me to study the Bible visually and to share these visual commentaries with the world. I am both a cartoonist and a theologian and this is the place where these two disciplines converge.

What do Acts 15 and the first two chapters of Galatians have in common? They both talk about the first big debate over ethnic identity in the church. Some of the early Christians said you had to be circumcised and assimilate into the Jewish culture in order to be a true disciple of Jesus. They debated the topic in Acts 15 in Jerusalem. The Apostle Paul was very opposed to this teaching. That's what he's talking about in his letter to the Galatians.
